Training & Supervision
The key to quality work is training and supervision. Years of training stand behind our in-store assemblers and supervisors. Even more highly trained trouble shooters are but a video call away. We never leave our assemblers or your store at a loss. Every bike we touch is carefully inspected and tested.
Free Adjustment Warranty
We offer an adjustment guarantee of every bike we assemble. Within 30 days of the bike’s purchase your customer can return the bike for adjustment of nuts, cables, brakes, tire pressure, etc. No charge to you or your customer. The adjustment appointment will be handled by our phone & on-line staff. Our assembly warranty card is on every bike. Details are in the Adjustment Warranty Section below.
Insurance
We insure our assembly work with a $5 mil all risk policy.
Prices
Based on the checklist below a typical assembly initially costs $20.00. That is reduced to $10.00 when your customer buys an extended 2 year Adjustment Warranty.
Adjust front derailleur. Set proper security/height, rotation, indexing and limit screws.
Install inner cable caps
Click through all gears to ensure proper indexing.
Pre-stretch brake cables, de-tangle, properly align and trim to correct length, then connect to brakes.
Adjust brake pads and “toe-in” properly and securely. (prevents brake squeal)
If disc brakes set rotor evenly between brake pads.
Check if disc brake pads are installed correctly and tightly from factory.
“burn-in” disc brakes
True/straighten both wheels.
Inflate proper tire pressure on both front and rear wheels.
Check reflectors.
Install any owner’s manuals or hangtags, including the Adjustment Guarantee.
Safety and liability concerns are prioritized by every Gears/Fraser Assembly professional assembler.
The last stage of the assembly is a final “M” check performed, documented and signed by a SENIOR assembler.
The “M” check, (see the diagram), validates tightness and security of the following:
Front wheel nuts or skewer is safely secured with tread on tire installed with proper rotation.
Handlebars are oriented properly, all bolts associated with stem are securely tightened at proper manufacture torque specifications.
Bottom bracket is checked for tightness along with spline type and square taper bolts.
Chain ring bolts are check and tightened.
Pedals are checked for proper installation and tightness.
Seat post binder bolts are tightened to spec along with any “Seat Gut” or seat assembly. Bolts are checked for security. Seat Angle is set to a comfortable universal ‘level” setting and set in middle of seat rails.
Finally, the assembler will use the phone app to photograph & report completed work.
Every bike assembled by GFA is under this free 30 days warranty.
Will support customers through the “break in” period of their new bike.
The warrantied service includes a safety check, gear and brake adjustment and wheel trues.
Customers register their new bike on-line with GFA to schedule their complimentary adjustment.
Customers scan the QR code on the warranty tag attached to the bike to start registration.
Customers arrange an adjustment appointment either on-line or by phone with a GFA telephone rep..
Customers return their bike to the store where the bike was purchased at the scheduled time and wait on-site for the necessary adjustments to made.
The service does not include installation or overhauling of any parts.
Neglect or abuse will void adjustments warranties.
The warranty is not transferrable.
$40.00 – 2 YEARS WARRANTY (Revenue Shared with the Retailer)
Everything in the 30 days warranty plus light lubrication of the chain is included in the extended warranty adjustment package.
Adjustment service may be once per year over 2 years.
Customers may buy & pay for the extended warranty through the GFA website up to 30 days from the date of the bike purchase with proof that GFA assembled their bike. (See below).
The warranty payment is shared $30.00 – $10.00 between GFA & the store that sold the bike. The retailer’s share will be reported monthly and rebated quarterly.

These details will appear in our assembly invoices to the store and will be recorded by GFA to validate warranty claims.
GFA will supply in-store signage to promote the Adjustment Warranty program. Signs will also display a QR code.
Conditions
Warranty work will only apply to relatively clean bikes. Our technician must be able to easily access the derailleurs without mud and while the customer waits. If the bike is too dirty for us to easily work on the bike our technician will not be able to apply warranty adjustments.
Adjustment Warranties remain valid only so long as the bike is not neglected or abused. If the bike is brought to us corroded or rusted it will be impossible to do warranty adjustments.
Warranty Adjustments will be performed only on bikes with normal wear & tear and no damage due to impacts, accidents or any “outside force”.
Every bike assembled by Fraser Assembly is under a free 30 days warranty.

As with any assembly, the active parts of a bicycle will settle in and may require a quick adjustment to keep your new bike running smoothly.

Clean bikes only. Show your bike a little love – keep it clean. Our 30 day and 2 year extended adjustment warranties apply to relatively clean bikes. Our technician must be able to easily access the derailleurs without mud, and while you wait. If the bike is too dirty for us to easily work on site technician will not be able to apply warranty adjustments.

The “quality of box store bikes” is a high traffic Google search term. Our Warranty is the perfect answer to those questions.
At Gears’ Oakville location a new training program has been launched. It’s the first of it’s kind in Canada. The course of study will cross-train students to assemble the most numerous items sold in a box store that require mechanical assembly. Barbecues, bicycles, sheds, shelters, gazebos.
The assembly school is stocked with a variety of BBQ models from different manufacturers. Training assemblers to recognize the similarities in models from the same manufacturer is a basic first step.
Assemblers learn the variety of tools specific to each job on each item to be assembled.
